Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy - the added ingredient to my Holistic Coaching. Being in the Fitness Industry since I was 15, I was certainly aware of what was healthy (or so I thought) and consumed every Fitness supplement known to man - most of which contained artificial ingredients as well as vitamins and minerals that aren't bioavailable. I didn't understand that I was really compromising my gut health (which compromised over 75% of my immune system), my hormones (I was irregular in menstruation) and my metabolism (my weight fluctuated consistently).

I found it hard to shed the last few kilos after babies, could easily put on a few kilos in a week, I had headaches, was constantly bloated, had an overly sensitive stomach, was lethargic, developed severe anxiety along with panic attacks and the list goes on. From there I started to get every other symptom known to man and was suggested by doctors to check for autoimmune disorders. I had my gut micro biomes tested and it turns out I had barely good bacteria of key strains in my gut. That in itself was a huge problem. Given that the gut contains majority of my immune system, develops the biggest portion of serotonin (the feel good hormone) to be sent to the brain, which in turn affects other hormones - it's no wonder I felt the way I did! So I worked with alternative health practitioners, became educated past the fitness industry misconceptions and studied to become a Nutritional Therapist. As the body works as a whole - mind, body, spirit - this added ingredient to work with my clients as whole person was a no-brainer.

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is a complementary therapy and works well with other health practices. It works to address a person as a whole and works to identify and correct deficiencies as well as alleviate health symptoms. Nutritional Therapy works with an individualised eating plan, and supplemented where necessary, to ensure that the unique dietary needs of the person is prescribed.  A Nutritional Therapist can work with an overall healthy individual to minimise risk of health conditions, or someone with an established condition to help minimise or alleviate symptoms. Correcting deficiencies has a notable positive impact on a persons health.

Some conditions that the symptoms can be addressed so they can be minimised are:

• Digestive Problems (Constipation, Diarrhoea, bloating, IBS, Reflux, Food allergies/Intolerances, diverticulitis)
• Weight problems (Weight gain/inability to lose weight, sugar cravings, blood sugar imbalances, diabetes)
• Cardio-Vascular Health (Raised cholesterol, high blood pressure, Metabolic Syndrome)
• Hormonal Imbalances/Women’s Health (infertility, PMS, PCOS, Endometriosis, Menopause symptoms, Recurring Thrush, Cystitis.)
• Skin Conditions (Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea)
• Mental health & General Wellbeing (Low mood, Anxiety, Fatigue, Poor Concentration)
• Autoimmune conditions ( such as Fibromyalgia, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, that often do not respond to conventional medicine)

30 days to healthy living program...

The 30 days to Healthy living and beyond program is a generic tool to help you get started on your path to a healthier, happier, energetic life with simplicity. I'm a HUGE advocate for this due to the whole foods approach and the supplemental ingredients. This is a very cost effective way to work towards overall health in a group support network.

Healthy living is all about making the right choices. Critical to making healthy decisions is having knowledge about the

foods you are eating, engaging in activity, and supporting your diet with premium Arbonne nutritionals that follow a

rigorous ingredient policy that is vegan. The program is both for Vegans and Omnivores.

Having more energy and vitality, feeling more engaged in life, and being happier can start with making a few small changes in your daily habits and engaging in self-education. Healthy living doesn’t have to be complicated. Even Better, it will cost you as little as $11.50 a day - less than a cup of coffee and a snack!
